Welcome to the Barksdale Global Power Museum!

Take an exciting journey through the past and discover the dynamic history of Strategic Bombardment at the home of the 2nd Bomb Wing, the mighty 8th Air Force, and the new Air Force Global Strike Command.

The Barksdale Global Power Museum is not only a memorial to our successes in battle, but a recognition of the many years spent training to deter war. The peacetime history of Barksdale Air Force Base is as significant as those years at war.

Come out and see vintage aircraft like the venerable B-17 and B-24 bombers of World War II; along with their best “Little Friend”, the P-51 Mustang. You can also see Cold War heroes such as the B-52D and B-52G Stratofortress. We will show you the highest and fastest flying jet aircraft ever – the MACH 3+ SR-71 Blackbird. BGPM airpark’s newest addition the B-1B and many more on display in our air park.

Inside, we have nine different exhibit galleries that help tell our story.

The museum is operating at our normal hours of 9:00am to 3:00 pm, MONDAY-friDAY except Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day and all other Federal Holidays. Museum Closed weekends. Airpark Open 7 days a week dawn to dusk.

Visitors from foreign nations and any non-US citizens must submit a Foreign Visitors Request Form, which includes two information forms that are required by Barksdale Office of Special Investigations and Security Forces separately. Foreign visitors will also need to attach photocopies of original passports, visas, and any other immigration documentation along with following the same instructions that follow. All forms for any visitors must be completely filled out. Incomplete forms submitted are subject to immediate denial without notification to the requesting parties.

Submit the completed form and any required attachments by email to Jarad.Guerrerosalinas@us.af.mil, Elizabeth.Micaletti@us.af.mil, and Walton.Bankston@us.af.mil no later than 30 days prior to your planned visit. The Barksdale Global Power Museum is on Barksdale Air Force Base, an active duty military installation. Museum visits and passes through the gate may be either cut short or denied due to training or real world events. The safety of our American Airmen and the security of our great nation must come first.

We work diligently along with Security Forces to maintain the security of the base while maximizing access to the Barksdale Global Power Museum. It is our passion. It is our heritage. It is our history.
